Data Privacy and Security Service supports district compliance with New York State Education Law 2-D and the Parents’ Bill of Rights, and provides resources to confront threats to district data and security. Components of the base service are:
Inventory Tool
This tool simplifies compiling of a software inventory and compliance with provisions of the
New York State Parents’ Bill of Rights.
Professional Development (Online)
Web-based security awareness training that follows a structured outline.
Digital Digests and Blasts
Quarterly digests are available on the topic of data privacy and security featuring current information on effective strategies, best practices and leadership resources. Digital blasts provide timely information as it occurs to keep districts informed of the latest developments in the field.
Digital Debriefs
Periodic webinars and interviews with industry leaders on topics related to data privacy and security.
District Sessions
Two half-day training sessions on service components.
